Getting Ahead of Frozen Pipes

8/29/2020 (Permalink)

Letting your faucet drip helps keep the pipes damn and avoids them freezing over.

Although the frosty breeze and sparkling snow can be breathtaking during winter, there are risks we must be aware of. Winter can be enchanting but this is the season where frozen pipes can be an awful disaster. This change in weather can cause temperatures to drop to extremely low levels and can cause pipes in your home to freeze and burst. If pipes are not properly insulated or if there are cracks or gaps where the pipe enters your home, this can cause the pipes to freeze easily. During the dramatic temperatures, water freezes and expands continually, and eventually, the pipes can burst. Be sure to maintain and check your pipes regularly to help avoid these situations. If you find yourself in this position, you can contact our location at SERVPRO of Lower Manhattan/Financial District and we will be glad to provide our services.
